BIM Models and Menus
Building information modeling (BIM) is a process supported by various tools and technologies. BIM models (BIMs) are digital files which can be extracted and exchanged to support accurate decision-making and engineering for a built asset.
GF BIM model specification consists of 2 levels of data elements
- Geometrical data
- Non-goemetrical data (for example weight)
All of GF plastic pipe systems are available for AutoDesk REVIT - REVIT being a globally recognised BIM software. They are available either as a system / material package of individual models. They contain additional non-geometric data ;
- embedded bill of material
- complete assortment overview and easy copying into specific project
- real-life construction-length
- embedded article- or product number and description
- 3D clearance zone
Available for GF imperial inch and metric (ISO/DIN mm) systems
CAD Libraries
GF offers a free-of-charge comprehensive CAD Library consisting of over 25,000 drawings. The CAD models offered are available in a wide range of CAD formats, as either 3D or 2D. Examples of format options available are ; STEP, dwg, dxf, IGES, dwf and SAT. The drawings are compatible with all major CAD Softwares on the market, for example ; AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, Bentley, Inventor, Mechnical Desktop, SolidWORX, Solid Edge. Data can be downloaded either as packages or as individual models.
Plug-In's for Autodesk softwares are also available to simplify the insertion of GF models into CAD drawings.
Other CAD softwares supported by GF CAD libraries are , for example ; Intergraph, Aveva, Sketch Up and AutoDesk 3-D Plant.
