This calculation tool compares the carbon footprint of plastic pipes compared to metal pipes. It evaluates the energy required to produce the raw materials and also the energy required during the production of the pipes.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) are used as a tool to assess the environmental impacts of a product, process or activity throughout its life cycle from extraction of raw materials through to processing, transport, use and disposal.

McKinsey report shows plastic pipes are best option for the environment. There green house gas emmisssions impact on the environemnt is 25 to 35% less that of traditional pipe materials.

GF plastic pipe systems are particularly resource efficient. The raw materials used belong to the family of plastics called "thermoplastics". Not only can they be recycled but also have a low unit weight and excellent life-span (>25 years).
